One of my ongoing responsibilities throughout the years at Crytek have been the temporary events in Hunt:Showdown 1896. The 2025 Murder Circus Encore marks the 20th Event I have shipped.
All the way back from "just spawning some pumpkins" in 2020, to a "roaming 17th compound" and now even one of three entirely unique Bileweaver Lairs appearing per map, only for the duration of an event and blending in seamlessly with the current "Web of the Empress" Event.
The original "Post Malones Murder Circus" 2024 was the first event to have such a "roaming 17th compound" appear, which came with a lot of challenges. I am humbled that I was enabled to shape this workflow from early on for us to be able to create even more meaningful event locations in the future. Apart from that, the event work also involved a lot of exploring and identifying the right ingredients that create the most player-impact for such a temporary location and then expanding on those as we built them.
It became a massive team effort of course nowadays to create all of these unique locations and to evolve the tech that allows us to keep scaling the impact these events can have in the worlds.
